We've rebuilt the OcuTrap app from the ground up — faster, clearer, and built for the field. Your traps, capture history, and subscription are already waiting for you in the new app. This page walks you through the short, one-time move.

Key date: the old app at base.ocutrap.com retires on September 30, 2026. After that it sends you to the new app. Move before then so your alerts keep coming.

You keep everything. Your traps, images, capture history, and subscription carry over automatically. Use the same email as before — either set a password from your welcome email, or create an account with that email and we'll link your traps. See step 2.

The move, step by step

1. Watch for the announcement

You'll get an email from us when it's your turn to move. It confirms your account path and includes either a "Set your password" link or a clear sign-up link. We'll also post a banner in the old app. The old app stays available until September 30, 2026, so you have a clear window to move at your own pace.

2. Activate your account — same email as before

Use the same email you used with the old app. Two supported paths:

  • Set your password — if we pre-set your account, open the "Set your password" link in your welcome email, choose a new password, and sign in at app.ocutrap.com.

  • Sign up with the same email — if you create a new account with that email, your traps, shared access, and subscription link automatically.

  • Why a new password? The new app runs on a new, more secure sign-in system, and for your security passwords can't be copied over from the old app. (You can turn on extra sign-in protection later.)

  • Same email as before. Your traps, shared access, and subscription are attached to the email you used with the old app — that's the address you sign in with.

Prefer your phone? The new OcuTrap app is available for iPhone and iPad and Android. Download it, then sign in with the same email and the password you just set.

If the email we sent isn't the address you use day-to-day anymore, don't create a separate account — reply to the welcome email (or contact support) and we'll move your account to the right address.

3. Confirm your traps

After you set your password and sign in, open your trap list. Every trap you owned in the old app is already there, along with its recent images and capture history.

  • Traps that were shared with you are reconnected too, as long as they were shared to this same email.
  • Open a trap to confirm its images and activity are loading.

If a trap is missing, don't re-register it — contact support and we'll reconnect it for you.

Did your team share one login? Some teams signed in to the old app with a single shared username. In the new app, each person gets their own account. Your shared login becomes one account, and you invite your teammates to the traps they need: open a trap, go to its Sharing tab, and enter each teammate's email. They'll get their own invite to set up an account, and the trap appears for them automatically. See Sharing Traps.

4. Check your billing

Your subscription moved with your traps — same plan, same price, same renewal date, same payment method. There's no new checkout and nothing to re-enter. To confirm:

  • Open a trap and check its Billing page — your plan and next renewal date should be shown there.
  • Then check the main Billing overview for your account.

If a trap shows as unsubscribed, or a plan you expect isn't listed on your account Billing page, don't start a new subscription. Contact support and we'll reconcile it — you won't be double-charged.

5. Get familiar — what's new

The new app keeps everything the old one did and adds a lot more. A few names and screens have changed. Skim the short guide below so nothing looks unfamiliar:

When you first sign in, the app also offers a short guided tour that points out the main screens and controls. You can replay it any time from the help menu.

6. Need a hand?

  • Everything above, plus common questions, is covered across this guide — start with Getting Started → App.
  • Stuck on any step? Contact support — tell us the email your account is under and we'll sort it out.
  • The old app retires on September 30, 2026. After that, base.ocutrap.com automatically sends you to the new app (your old bookmark still works). Everything you need is already in the new app, so there's nothing to save or export from the old one.

Quick checklist

  • I activated my account (set password or signed up) at app.ocutrap.com with the same email as my old account.
  • My traps, images, and history appear.
  • My billing / subscription looks right (checked per-trap and account Billing).
  • I skimmed What's new.
